  • NITSA HADJIGEORGIOU (1952 - )

    Born in Famagusta she grew up in Nicosia and studied at the Higher School of Fine Arts in Athens under Moralis, Nicolaou, kanakakis, Mitaras and Prevelakis.

    Along her studies in painting, she took a seminar in frescoes and icon painting graduating with distinction.

    She has participated in many group exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad, including the Paris Biennale of 1985 and the Exhibition of Young Artists of the Mediterranean in Marseilles 1988. In 1992 she represented Cyprus in the International Ecological Symposium «Eart to Earth» in Gustrow, Germany.

    In the international exhibition Expo 92 in Seville, she participated in the Polish pavilion with the theme «the flag of Earth»

    She won the first prize in the Golden Nightingale competition in Platres. Her work «Ecological Concern» also won her a first prize at the 7th India Triennale.
