    (1885 - 1974)

    Born in Ashia, he received his elementary education at the village school. Until 1940 he worked as a shoe maker. From then onwards (1940-60) he applied himself to imitations of archaeological finds, ceramics and sculpture.

    Around 1957 he turned to painting, to which he eventually devoted himself.

    His first individual exhibition was held in 1960 at the ŤApofasiť gallery. After that he presented his work in individual and group exhibitions in Cyprus, Athens, London, Zurich and Monaco.

    In 1969 he was awarded a prize at the 2nd Triennale of Naive Art in Bratislava.

    His themes were inspired from the place he was born and brought up in.

    He died a refugee following serious wounds afflicted by the Turkish invaders.

    He was posthumusly honored by the Academy of Athens.
