OUR HISTORY:Founded in 1995, SpiderNet was the fifth Internet Service Provider that entered the Cyprus market. Within a short period of time, SpiderNet managed to become the market leader by establishing a reputable name in the market and gaining the respect of its rivals and customers who realized its competitive strength. By the end of 2001, SpiderNet served more than 15,000 customers, experiencing a high growth rate reaching a market share of 35% of the individual and over 65% of the corporate users. OUR NETWORK:The primary connection with the Internet was achieved on October 1995, where a 64 Kbps line was directly connected with the United States. During February 1996, the company upgraded this line to 192 Kbps, and by the end of 1996, SpiderNet managed to provide Internet access all over Cyprus. From its launching date, SpiderNet proceeded to consistently lead its field by introducing new Internet services in the Cyprus market. Notably SpiderNet is the third Internet Provider internationally that offered Radio program transmissions through the Internet. Since then, SpiderNet has introduced in the Cyprus market almost 95% of all the Internet services available today.

In 1999, SpiderNet started widening its offerings beyond Internet connectivity and into new services and content. On October 20th 1999, SpiderNet acquired 30% of the share capital of ICC EduNet and another 40% on December 11th of the same year. I.C.C EduNet Limited is the pioneer in introducing in the Cyprus market the first electronic Greek school on the Internet, 'Odyssey'. This strategic movement enabled SpiderNet to broaden its dimensions on the educational field, thus targeting the substantial, large segment of students. 'Odyssey' is an excellent tool for every student, since it facilitates an easy-to-use method for accessing data concerning teaching material, obtaining information relating to examinations and accessing libraries.  

In October 2000, SpiderNet established cooperation with DIAS Group. This cooperation of the leading Internet Service Provider and the largest Publishing Organisation in Cyprus has resulted in the development of the largest Internet Portal in Cyprus, Go2.com.cy. GO2 offers live local and international news, live stock quotes, entertainment guides, health information and much more in Greek and in English.


SpiderNet is a partner company in ERMIS Research and Incubator Centre in association with the Cyprus College, RTD Talos and Technology Park of Crete. The Centre was established in 2003 and its mission is to contribute to the technological upgrading of the country's productive base and encourage and support local and regional development. ERMIS Research and Incubator Centre has signed a contract with the Cyprus Government to host new high technology firms, which are evaluated and approved by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism.

SpiderNet entered the CSE (Cyprus Stock Exchange) on Friday, August 4th, 2000. SpiderNet, the leading Internet Provider in Cyprus, is the first company in its field to join the Cyprus Stock Exchange. The entrance in the CSE, gave the boost towards implementing the company's strategic plan, which was dedicated to offering its customers the latest technological innovations, always along with reliability, quality and excellent service.

SpiderNet has invested heavily in its Network infrastructure and backbone in order to provide reliable and high quality Internet services to large corporations at the same time as remaining flexible to attract personal attention to the details that are significant to every individual user.
